I Learn Life Skills Through STEAM Project: International Curriculum Integration Framework
This comprehensive integration document outlines how the I Learn Life Skills Through STEAM eTwinning Project activities are systematically mapped across the national primary curricula of the four partner countries (Türkiye, Georgia, Portugal, Ukraine, Albania, Greece and Romania) for the primary education level (Ages 7-11), fully aligned with the European Key Competences for Lifelong Learning.
🇪🇺 Part 1: Alignment with European Key Competences (EU Framework)
To ensure high pedagogical quality within the scope of eTwinning standards, the tasks in our "I Learn Life Skills Through STEAM" project directly support the following European Key Competences for young students aged 7–11:
Mathematical Competence and Competence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM):Developed through the application of the engineering design cycle and experimental approaches in "Designing Vehicles from Recycled Materials," "Creating Toys Inspired by Toys in Our Environment," raising awareness for water conservation during "World Water Day," developing prototypes for "Deep Breath of the Seas," and visualizing proverbs and idioms.
Digital Competence:Developed through "Nature Love and AI Coloring Activity," "Cracking the Code with Mascot Steamora," internet safety awareness within the "Safer Internet Day 2026" framework, and tracking mascot movements in digital environments.
Multilingual Competence: Developed through collaborative story writing in "We Create Stories, We Grow with Life Skills" and the active use of English as a working language during web seminars organized in collaboration with the Mersin University ITE.
Personal, Social, and Learning to Learn Competences: Developed through peer interaction and teamwork in "Delicious Designs – Life Skills Workshop," "Rhythm Bridge" classroom collaboration activities, and preparing "New Year Greeting Cards".
Cultural Awareness and Expression: Encouraged through "Art Journey with Recycled Yarns," the creative visualization of proverbs and idioms, movement activities performed with mascot Steamora, and collaborative songwriting.
Citizenship Competence: Developed through integrating recycling into life skills, "Origami Life Skills Workshop" which strengthens interaction with the living environment, and activities that promote environmental responsibility.
