23 March-1 April Turkey National Stem Workshop

 23 March-1 April Turkey

National Stem Workshop

As part of our "I Learn Life Skills Through STEAM" eTwinning project, we focused on the waste problem threatening marine ecosystems through our learning scenario titled "Deep Breath of the Seas" for March 22nd, World Water Day.
The core problem statement of our process was the disruption of the natural cycle of our seas—which should function as precisely as a ticking clock—by the uncontrolled disposal of plastics, metals, and invisible microplastics. Faced with this "silent invasion," we as teachers acted not merely as sources of information, but as mentors who sparked curiosity and instilled engineering discipline. As a unified team of teachers and students under the name "Sea Detectives," we took action to restart the stalling gears of nature.
During the prototype development process guided by our mentorship, the children integrated their knowledge of science and mathematics with recycled materials to design innovative solution tools capable of sorting and collecting waste. We proudly presented this integrated work and the resulting prototypes, which reflect both the teachers' vision and the students' hard work, at the April 1st Türkiye National STEAM Workshop. Through this journey, we shared the excitement of combining STEAM disciplines with real-life skills to help our seas take a "deep breath" once again with all of Türkiye.

As a team of Marine Detectives within the scope of I Life Skills Through STEAM project, we took our place in Turkey's STEM Education National Workshop on April 1!
In this valuable environment where science, technology and production meet, we had the opportunity to present the learning scenarios and our prototype work that we have developed with our students.
By guiding our students through the process; we supported them to improve their problem-solving, design and production skills.

On 23 March-1 April, we held our pre-presentation preparation meeting under the name of Turkey Stem Education National Workshop Detectives Team.

From March 23rd to April 1st, we held a preparatory meeting under the name "Detectives Team" to introduce our project to the Turkish partners at the National STEM Education Workshop in Türkiye.
